Empty Arms

For nine short months I loved you heart and soul.
You brought joy into my life, and you made me whole.
I cherished our precious moments that we spent together,
Every move, every kick, will stay with me forever.
But when the time came for me to become a mother,
I had no choice but to give you to another.

As the years passed on, my love for you grew.
Everyday I said I loved you and prayed somehow you knew.
I put your little life in another woman's care,
At least another's empty arms would no longer be there.
